Pragmatic Enterprise 2.0 provides much needed competency, ability to execute, and risk navigation to help organizations build their own capabilities while we actually help them safely deliver on the promise of social computing.
Q. What exactly does the Pragmatic Enterprise 2.0 service provide to customers?
A. Strategy development, guidance, on-the-ground implementation, project assessment, change management, and long-term services such as community management as long as clients need it.
Q. Are parts of the service optional, or is it all-or-nothing?
A. Clients will typically start with strategy work and then ramp up the use of the service as implementation nears. We can deliver it in stages as well. The project intelligence component is usually required. The social tools component is optional, and we're happy to work with platforms such as SharePoint, though we currently recommend Socialtext.
Q. How much does it cost and how long does it take?
A. The cost of Pragmatic Enterprise 2.0 depends on the size of the effort, but is typically a low double digit percentage of an existing social computing project budget. Though the primary effort usually lasts less than 6 months, we recommend risk navigation and community management for 24 months to ensure long-term results. Our cost is usually made up for by the risks identified and mitigated as well as the lower amount of retry and experimentation effort expended.
